Consultation At this level the student is completely mainstreamed and does not attend the Resource class. The Resource teacher monitors the student's performance as part of the Exit Criteria.
Resource The student is enrolled in 50% or more mainstreamed classes. The Resource Program provides academic instruction and support to the student. The Resource teacher meets regularly with the student's teachers to monitor progress and concerns. Parental involvement is an integral part of the program.
Instructional The student is enrolled in 50% or more of the school day in Special Education classes. Each student's specific strengths and weaknesses are addressed through modified curriculum and individualized instruction. In the BD/ED program, students are reinforced by a program-wide behavioral management system. Computerized instruction is also available in many classes.
BD/ED SELF-CONTAINED In the self-contained class, the BD/ED student is instructed by the same teacher in most academic areas. This setting provides the student with maximum structure and support by providing a behavior management system and social psychology group sessions. Positive reinforcements in the way of group activities are also part of the program.
