| Morton Freshman Center Teachers Reward Students for Academic Accomplishments |
Throughout the entire school year, the teachers from Green House 2 at the Morton Freshman Center worked diligently to encourage their students to put forth 100% effort to meet the academic requirements set forth in their courses. On Friday, May 22nd, 34 students were rewarded for meeting their academic goals and putting forth positive effort by spending the morning at the beautiful Cicero Community Park.
The students had a great time playing softball, football, volleyball, soccer, skateboarding and playing bag toss. Students also reflected on the friendships they've developed, on the school year and their accomplishments to date.
After the trip, Mr. Wood, a first year Social Studies teacher, commented, “The students had a great time! It was truly a positive experience for our students who so hard during the year”.
After spending a few hours at the park, the students were rewarded with a lunch at McDonald’s. The meals were provided to the students through the generous donations from Cicero Town Clerk Marylin Colpo and Cicero Town Trustee Maria Punzo-Arias.
The teachers from Green House 2 (Ms. Collins, Mr. Woods, Ms. Melero Juarez, Ms. Durkee and Mr. Allen), along with Freshman Center Principal Joe Gunty, would like to congratulate the following students from Green House 2 for having a great freshman year:
