Morton East participates in annual educational exchange with Durango, Mexico
7/17/2008 12:00:00 PM
Santiago Papasquiaro is known in Cicero by the numerous families whose roots are in this beautiful town in the state of Durango, Mexico. From this place in the slopes of the Sierra Madre Mountains spread many of the music bands that started the popular dance 'duranguense.' For Morton East students more than music has been exchanged with the people from Santiago Papasquiaro thanks to the work done by the Morton East Cyber Service, a club sponsored by Mr. Roman Emano, Science teacher at Morton East and David Finkel. Cyber Service has been working among other projects in refurbishing computers to send to high schools in Durango. One-hundred computers are ready to be delivered this summer.
